Welcome to Wooler Children’s Centre

About our Nursery:

We are a Sure Start Day Nursery, we have been open since 2003 and are registered with OFSTED as a full day care provider for children aged between 3 months and 5 years. We aim to ensure that the children in our care will get the best possible start in life. We are a happy friendly nursery, with a team of staff who are dedicated to providing a warm, secure and stimulating environment for your child to learn and develop in. We hope that your child will both enjoy and benefit from the care and education in the warm and inviting atmosphere of our nursery. Parents play an active role in our nursery so we look forward to fostering a successful partnership between home and school.

We are located on the site of Wooler County First School and The Glendale Playgroup. This location allows us to build good relationships with both the school and the playgroup and to work in partnership with them.

LET'S WORK TOGETHER

We recognise that you play the most important role in your child’s life and we would like to work in partnership with you to further their all - round development. Children need to feel safe and secure and we provide this need in our nursery by setting boundaries and routines. For this to work effectively we encourage continuity between home and nursery. Our “wee” book has some suggestions, rhymes and ideas that we use in nursery. Feel free to try them at home and don’t be shy about sharing any tips you may have, with us. There is also some general information you may find useful. Please ask for a copy!!!

Your child at our nursery

We believe that children learn best when:

* They feel secure, happy and are able to have FUN! FUN! FUN!
* They are involved, curious and able to explore.
* They can talk freely with other children and adults.
* Their achievements and efforts are valued and praised.
* They are encouraged to learn new skills.
* Staff, parents and partnership board work together harmoniously.

Our nursery is set up to reflect these beliefs. We aim to provide a secure and welcoming environment where the children can develop all skills and gain a positive attitude towards learning.
